<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">PageRank is one of the factors webmasters considers in measuring their progress. Newbies are so obsessed with this PageRank thing that they Check PageRank almost weekly although they are familiar with the fact that its not gonna change until the next PageRank update.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Google has updated PageRank quarterly in the year 2012:
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">▌ 7 February 2012
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">▌ 2 May 2012
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">▌ 2 August 2012
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">▌ 7 November 2012
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">▌ 4 February 2012.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Going by the trend, the next update would have been in the 1st week of May. However, there is no still sign of it.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Google has updated it at a consistent base in the last year. There are predictions all over the internet with PageRank update rolling in the last week of June, still no one is sure of it.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Now what if Google do not updates PageRank this quarter?
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">This may provide a relief to blogs that have used black hat SEO and link building strategies like buying backlinks. However, for a small publisher like me and thousands other who are practicing healthy link building strategies, its a sad news. An increase of 0 to 1 in PageRank is really a motivation to small bloggers. The delay or cancellation of Update this quarter will only make us wait for another 3 months to measure the progress.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Hoping for the next update to roll out soon. Fingers crossed. !!
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Blogger's worst thing you may have noticed is its years-old templates. The dashboard has been revised but the templates remains same. However, with time, there has been hundreds of third party templates designed and released for free to blogger.com users. These third party templates needs to be manually uploaded to blogger.com. Here is a quick tutorial to change your bloggers default template.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">▌ Go to Blogger Dashboard > Template.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">▌Select Backup / Restore option from the right hand side upper corner of the template dashboard.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">▌ Download full template before uploading any third party template. You don't want anything wrong with your already developed blog, so keeping a backup is always a necessary thing.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Blogger Template Backup / restore

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">▌ Now, browse through your PC and select the template you wanna upload. The template will be uploaded.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">How to customize your already applied Template:
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">▌ Go to Blogger Dashboard > Template. Select Customize.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">▌ Blogger Template Designer is open. Now you can adjust Widths, size, Background Images, Templates Fonts and many more.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">If you know HTML and javascripts, you can manually modify your site's design by going to
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Blogger Dashboard > Templates > Edit HTML.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Important: Don't forget to keep a backup of your template before making any change. Always preview your template if you edit its HTML source, if its loading correctly, you are in right direction, else, you need to revert changes.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Media.net is a contextual advertising network similar to AdSense with Yahoo! Bing network
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">shaking hands with media.net to provide better revenue earning systems to publishers. Its relatively new to AdSense and is seen as better AdSense alternative. However, my personal experience till date is not so encouraging.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">▌How I got approved.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">There is no sign-up process. You request an invite from their website filling out all the details and they will manually review every site / blog. If they find your blog complying with their policies, they will accept you. I didn't have much problem getting approved since I already have optimized my site in accordance to AdSense program policies and more or less, its same for Media.net. You may want to read how to get approved by AdSense.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">▌Whats benefit of Media.net?

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">○ The Ads are very much targeted and contextual. So you don't have to worry much about bad User experience.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">○ A very good customer support. Mail them any problem you have, and they will reply you within 48 hours. That never works with AdSense.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">○ Really less chances of getting banned like AdSense. Even if you are, you have someone to ask the reason, and most probably you will be replied.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">○ Ads are new. Visitors have become blind to AdSense ad units. Media.net provide new Ads sizes and units and customization is much easier and better.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">▌After Approval, 1st week.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">I placed one Ad unit each on 2 of my blogs. The earning was simply amazing. Yeah!! The minimum RPM was $2. i earned an RPM of even 18$ for one particular day. I was damn excited. I started replacing AdSense ad units with Media.net units, downgrading AdSense to second choice for earning. It went the same for almost 2 weeks.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">▌What Next!!

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">zero RPM media.net

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">RPM dropped to zero! I thought it may be due to any traffic problem or my blog may not have generated quality traffic. But the RPM never really increased till date. I am still keeping one ad unit on each blog, but RPM is still zero. For the last 2k visitors, I have earned zero.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
▌Why I switched Back to AdSense.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">○ With AdSense, at least I know how i get paid. How much clicks I received and CPC. Media.net is not transparent enough. They don't tell you how you earned, whether it was Clicks or impressions that increased your balance.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">○ Each site needs to be approved. If i maintain 10 blogs, I have to apply for each blog separately. With AdSense, if you are approved once, you can place ads on any blog/websites that complies with AdSense program policies.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">○ Not suitable for blogger domains. If you have a blog blog.blogspot.com, then perhaps you will miss a good amount of visitors. Google has incorporated Blogger's domain redirection. That means you will have to get approved for each of the domain separately .com, .in, .au, and the list is endless.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">▌Now what I am gonna do.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">I will keep this option for another month with a close eye on my earning. If the RPM sticks to zero, I will remove the Ads and believe that old rule, "AdSense is best".
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Creating a blog, either as a hobby or with the intention of making money, the top priority has always been to reach out to maximum people. And linkedIn is often missed out in driving traffic to your blog.

Driving traffic to your blog through LinkedIn/

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">The main reason why LinkedIn is not used effectively by other bloggers is the fact that Its not so social like Facebook, primarily considered as a job-seeking resume uploading website, and due to its somewhat difficult to use interface.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">However, if used consistently, LinkedIn can boost your traffic to a great extent and the major benefit of traffic from LinkedIn is that you get highly targeted visitors - Quality traffic.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Here is 5 ways of getting traffic from LinkedIn:

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">▌Update your profile. Complete your profile 100%, add your own profile picture, and fill out all the details seriously. The more you look genuine, the more you attract people towards your shares and posts. If your profile is partially completed and weak, people may never read visit your profile or follow you or add you in their connection.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">One more benefit of completing linkedIn profile is that your linkedIn profile is directly shown in search engines. Anybody going for a search of your name will likely to find you in search results.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Keeping a genuine account also improves chances of engagement with other people on linkedIn. Extending your reach is always beneficial.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">▌Increase Your Connections. Add more and more people in your connections. Invite them from your e-mail contact lists, other social networking platforms like Facebook, Google+, Twitter etc. You can even add people whom you interact on linkedIn or who are of same interests/ niche to you. The more 1st level connection, the more your reach. Its good to build a connection pool of genuine people who communicate and engage with you.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">▌Join groups. Search for groups of your niche and join them. linkedIn groups are highly targeted and sharing articles with them will increase your visitors. Don't be frustrated not getting approved from some groups. LinkedIn groups are strict in their policies, and the moderators may not approve you in 1st place. Search for similar 'open groups' and you will still find the targeted audience.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">▌Create your own group. Its not a good idea for a new LinkedIn signed up user, but if you have spent some time on LinkedIn, and managed to have a good reach, create your own community. Put links of your blog in the group description. Anyone joining your group will go to read the group profile 1st, and that may convert into traffic to your blog.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">▌Engage with people. Join in the discussions in comments section, groups and walls. The more you communicate with people, the more you increase your reach. Moreover, if you consistently participate in group discussions, people will notice you more, and next time you post an article links in that group, you surely gonna get more visitors than earlier.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">1. Pay Per Click. This is the most widely used form of earning. As the name suggest, you get paid when a visitor clicks on the ads shown on your website. This method of earning is beneficial with websites/blogs receiving a lot of traffic, since only a small number of visitors will gonna click on your ads. The CTR (click through rate) is the number of clicks per hundred visitors. A normal optimized for ads website tend to receive about 3-4 % of CTR on an average. So earning from this method really needs a good amount of traffic.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Some of the most widely used PPC programme are

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"> ▌Google AdSense
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"> ▌Chitika
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"> ▌Clicksor
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">2. CPM Advertising. CPM is Cost per Mile. Instead of earning from the clicks you get on the ads, you get paid by the number of times the ads are shown to the visitors. Put it simple, the more pageviews you get, the more you earn, irrespective of any clicks. CPM advertisement is a sure shot mode of earning.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">The rates are fixed per 1000 page views. That means if you get 10,000 visitors (page views) and the ad network is paying you a CPM of 1$, then you will make 10$. As you can see, for earning a small amount you need a lot of visitors. CPM advertising is best suitable for blogs with very high traffic. Getting a few hundred visitors will earn you penny for a day. The plus point is that you are sure of those pennies irrespective of clicks.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">There are various CPM advertising networks like

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"> ▌Casale Media
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"> ▌Clicksor
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"> ▌BurstMedia
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"> ▌Tribal Fusion
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"> ▌Value Click media.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Some of these have minimum requirements. You can have a look on them by visiting their websites.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">3. In-Text Ads. In-Texts-ads are contextual advertisements where keywords from your posts are selected and an advertisement is connected to it. The keywords are double underlined or dotted, and when a visitors hovers mouse on those keywords, the advertisement is pop up-ed. Here the payment is usually through cost per mile. The benefit of In-text advertising is that they don't take any space on your blog and normally do not lower your site speed.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">The two most widely used In-Text Ads schemes are

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"> ▌Infolinks
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"> ▌Kontera
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">4. Affiliate Marketing. With this kind of advertisement, you earn commission from each sale that is done through your referral link. You write reviews about products and when some one buys any product through your referral, they pay you a commission.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"> Lets say a network pays you a commission of 5%. If someone buys a thing with cost price Rs 100,000, you will make Rs 5000. That's a lot of amount to earn from CPC and CPM ads.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Affiliate marketing is favourite among some of the blogger since chances of earning much more is higher. However, setting up a fan base, reviewing products, and compelling people to buy a product is a hectic task.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Some of the affiliate Marketing networks are

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"> ▌ClickBank
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"> ▌AffiliateWindow
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"> ▌Commission Junction
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"> ▌Amazon
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">5. Selling ads spaces on your blog. Selling ad spaces on your blog to display advertising banners is a good way of monetizing blogs. This is a profitable thing, since all the money comes to you and no middle person/ company takes a part of your income. The interested advertisers contacts you, a deal is done and you are paid for banners you display on your blog. These can be CPC banners or CPM banners depending upon the advertisers choice.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">You can still go to third party for managing of Selling-buying ads so that you don't have to deal with the complexities. However, then the third party will eat up a part of your income.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">The major advantage is that you have the option of deciding the minimum rates for the ads you will show on your blog.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
Do you use any other method to monetize your blog? Feel free to share it to the readers of this blog. Time to make some money.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">If you are an AdSense publisher and monitoring your account regularly, you must have noticed "unmatched Ad Request". You can view it under Performance report > Bid type.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">What is Unmatched Ad Request basically?
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">When a user visits your site or blog with AdSense Ad units, these Ad units sends a request to AdSense to display a relevant ad to the visitor. If there are no ads returned for this request, it is counted as unmatched Ad request. The ad units are then shown as blank spaces.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">The problem is not that you are getting Unmatched Ad Requests. The real trouble is that some publisher will have more of these requests than others. The chances of earning from these ad requests are NIL since there are no ads served and there is no clicks or impressions pay.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Reasons for higher unmatched ad requests.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Using link units on site. If you are using link units on a blog/site, there will be higher unmatched ad requests. This is due to the fact that a matched ad request for a link unit is counted only if a visitors click on them. Since there are hardly any clicks on link units these days, these all are counted in unmatched ad requests.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Poor content. Chances are that your content is not receiving enough bidders due to poor quality contents. No one want to show ads on a web blog with low or bad quality contents. So, may be you are not getting enough ads as per ad requests. Some ad requests don't have ads to display.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"> Blocked list. If you block half of the advertisers, how could you fulfill all the ad requests your blog generates. So be careful about that.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Unusual ad size. Square or rectangle and more frequently used ad sizes have more bidders and hence lower unmatched requests. Don't go for any unusual ad sizes.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Although you know now what may be the reason for unmatched ad requests, you can hardly take any steps to shield yourself. Almost everyone keeps their filter list small. If you are approved by AdSense, there is almost negligible chances of poor quality content. And since Google is the leader in publishing-advertising market, number of bidders in most cases will never run out for an ad space.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">How to utilize unmatched ad requests to your benefits.?
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">This is where back up ads come into the picture. While creating ad unit, Google asks for back up ads in case there is no ads to display. Link one such another ads from any other publishing network you are using. This is the most you can do with unmatched ad requests.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">At last, you don't need to really worry about unmatched ad requests unless you are earning from AdSense. There is no any such negative aspects of it, and there is hardly anything you can control. You can at most write quality contents to attract maximum bidders, use more obvious ad sizes, keep your filter list small.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">mb.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">You must have noticed that Blogspot's domain has been redirecting to country specific domains. Google has taken this step to provide country specific redirection in order to maintain regional censorship. If a country prohibits the content of a blog, Google will stop servicing that content in that country.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">So what's the problem with redirection?
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Nothing if you don't care about your rankings, your ad campaigns and SEO practices. I am sure you do care about all these things. Here are some negative effects of your blogger domain redirection to country specific domain.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Regarding Rankings: Most of ranking systems differentiate between .com and .in. If you go and find your alexa rank of your blog with .com and .in or .co.uk, they will all be different. Now what is happening is your effort to improve your ranking is distributed among different domains.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">SEO practices. So, your blogspot blog is hosted on .com, .co.uk, .co.uc, or .in domain? Isn't that a case of content duplicated? And if you know a little about SEO, you must be aware that it will affect badly? Google says regarding the country specific redirection that it is trying that SEO practices remain unaffected but its only "trying". It is affected negatively.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Ad campaigns. If you are with AdSense, its okay. But if you show ads of Media.net, where its compulsory to getting approved of each site to host ads, they will not count "clicks and impressions" for .in if you registered with .com. I personally contacted media.net representative about the problem, and what he said was, I have to manually submit all the domains. Now there are 100 countries from which I get traffic. Is it possible? They didn't get me to a solution.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"> <span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Is there any solution?
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">There is no problem without any solution. Personally, I have two of the best solution here.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Get a custom domain. Custom domains are not redirected to country specific domains. Buy one for your blog. Its not so costly. Blogger provides domain in as less as 10$ for a year, and with other domain hosting services, its even lower.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Not interested in buying a domain? Here is another solution.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Go to Blogger dashboard > Template > Edit HTML.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Back up your template in case something wrong happens.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Now search for the line <b:include data='blog' name='all-head-content'/>. Press Control + F and then search it.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Just below the line paste these lines,:

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"><script type="text/javascript">
var str= window.location.href.toString();
if ((str.indexOf('.com/'))=='-1') {
var str1=str.substring(str.lastIndexOf(".blogspot."));
if (str1.indexOf('/')=='-1') {
var str2=str1;
}
else {
var str2=str1.substring(0,str1.indexOf('/')+1);
}
window.location.href =window.location.href.toString().replace(str2,'.blogspot.com/ncr/');
}
</script>

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"> Now, preview template to see if everything is okay.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Save templates. The work is done.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">This javascript redirects country specific redirection back to .com domains. Although this will reduce site's loading speed, since there are two redirection, one from .com to country specific and then back to .com domain, but still its a good way if you really don't wanna go for a custom domain.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">mb.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Cost per Click is the amount an advertiser is willing to pay for the clicks that are generated on the ads shown on your page. AdSense has a bidding process in which different advertisers bid for the ad space on your blog and the highest bidder gets a chance to display their ad. AdSense on its own ensures that the most paying ad is shown on your page so that you earn maximum. Its not in your control to decide to decide the ads or to fix the amount for charging. However, by following some of the basic practices, you can increase you Cost Per Click for the ads and earn maximum from the adsense.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Practices to increase AdSense Cost Per Click.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Enable all of your ad units to show both text and images rich ads. When you limit a unit to show only a particular kind of ad, either text or image ads, you are limiting the number of bidders and thus lowering your chances of earning maximum. Lets get it with an example. Suppose you have limited a ad unit to show only text ads. And you receive a CPC of 1$ on it. What you miss out is that there may be an Image ad that is willing to pay more than 1$ per click. By increasing the number of advertisers to compete for the ad unit, you are increasing your chances of getting higher bid than you get normally. So, its always better to enable all ad units to show both images/media ads and text ads.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">The first ad unit that appears in your blog's html receives the ads with maximum CPC. Suppose you have put three ads units, one as a leader board, a sidebar, and one at the bottom of your posts. Now, naturally you will wish that the highest paying ads are shown on leader board, since there are more chances of people clicking on them, so you have to put the leader board AdSense ads first in your html code. You may achieve this by trying and testing.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Keep your filter list small. Filtering majority of ads for whatever reason will ultimately lead to less advertisers competing for your blog, and hence less earning.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Developed countries CPC are usually higher than under-developing countries. You will get a higher CPC from US than from India. So, building a country specific audience will limit your reach. Its also not at all advisable to target only US audience. You are paid for Indian clicks too. Whatever it is. The point is, don't limit your audience to a particular country and try to build a follower list of countries like US, UK, etc.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">The ultimate goal is to allow maximum number of advertisers bid for the ad space on your blog. The more competition, the more earning. By enabling both rich media ads and text ads does this only.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">However, in doing all these practices you must avoid some points.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Don't believe that writing for high paying keywords will earn you more CPC. This is a good practice unless you over do it. You are writing for people who reads you. Don't over do it. Moreover, Google says that it don't encourage any such practice.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Don't use multiple accounts. Its a violation of terms for Google and your account will be suspended as soon as they discover it.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Don't change the behavior of AdSense Ads in any way. Its not permitted under Google terms and conditions.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Most of the publishers learns from experience. Keeping these points will certainly help you in increasing CPC for AdSense ads.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">If you have any point in your mind, mention in comments. It will be a privileges for me and my readers.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">A site with quality content will attract more visitors naturally. No matter how beautiful you design a site, if you don't have good content no one will read you. Creating good quality and useful content will influence readers more than anything else on your blog. When a person searches for something, and he finds it exactly on your blog, chances are that he will refer your content in his circles thus increasing your reach. In blogging world, "Content is king" is over-used word and rightly so. You cannot expect huge traffic in the absence of Quality service.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">You may want to read the earlier parts of SEO practices.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Best practices for quality content.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"> Easy-to understand. Write it up for an average person. You won't find anyone reading your blog with a dictionary in his hand. Always write keeping your audience in mind. If i come across any article that put strain on my mind while reading, I will simply switch over to another. Keep it simple, break a very long sentence in two or more, and always try to keep it free from spelling mistakes and grammatical errors. If you are not that much good in English, ask your friends or colleagues to rectify it. Using too difficult words to understand is a bad idea. The user always have the choice to another good written and easy to understand articles. You have to out perform them.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Stay focused on the topic. Do not deviate from the topic. Stick to the plot you have chosen to write about. Talking about several topics in the same article is not a good idea. Choose a topic for an article and always organize your content around it. A little variation in the content is okay, with proper sub headings and paragraphs. The basic idea is if user comes to you looking for "Link building strategies", he should read that only. While writing an article, if you come up with some random and altogether new idea, write it down on a piece of paper for your future posts. Simple!!

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Create unique content. The primary question is "Why someone read your article if its already written on web"? Why yours only. Everything is over-written on web. Search a topic and you will find thousands of websites in the results. The main aim is to compete to those websites and to be proved better than them. At some point of time writing about a topic, you may find that there is no new thing in your mind about it. well, you can then include some charts to describe it more, take the help of pictures and statistics to prove the point. Lastly, If you cannot come up with new ideas, at least put that idea in a unique manner.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Write for people, not for search engines. Its not the search engine that will read your content or benefit from it. Write for people. Search engine is a just way of discovering your content. Avoid using too much keywords since it may annoy the readers. What if I use "SEO practices: Quality content is the king" all over this post, will you enjoy it? You won't even come back to my blog again. Putting keywords in texts is a good SEO practice but it should not be done too much. Many webmasters agree that putting a keyword every 100 words of text is the best policy and I agree to it. You may have your own standards but keep in mind not over-doing it.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">If you have in any other point in your mind, feel free to discuss it in comments.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"> Here, I give you two URLs.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">http://y2do.blogspot.com/2013/05/best-seo-practices-improving-structure-of-URL.html

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">http://y2do.blogspot.com/2013/05/asdckefwk234mkvesvk4fwdefsdfjiw3t2k4.html

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">In both the above URLs, which one you find more easier to remember? Can you identify what the post content is with the second URL?
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">URLs are the first thing you see or type in a browser. Creating a descriptive URL helps in keeping your contents organized on one hand and friendly for those who want to link to your article on the other.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">There are certain benefits of Using descriptive URLs.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">With a descriptive and easy-to-remember URL, you provide an option to a visitor to remember it and visit you again.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">URLs are displayed in search engines and people searching a particular query usually see the URL before visiting a site/blog. With a meaningful URL, you are increasing your chances of Search Engine visits.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">If the URL contains relevant words instead of random digits and alphabets or some IDs, this provides users and search engines with more information about the page.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">How to select a better URL structure.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"> Create URLs that are relevant to your page contents. People may guess what you have written by just reading it.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Be short but use words to create one. Picking some words from the article itself and framing a better URL is a better idea.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Put keywords in the URL itself.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Avoid using /article1.html type URLs.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Do not using too lengthy URL that it don't even fit in browser :P Being descriptive don't mean you put the whole summary of content in the URL itself.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Use one URL for one article. Having different locators for the same article can be bit confusing.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">How to create a custom URLs.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">You can create a custom URL in blogger dashboard while creating a post.Usually the permalink or the URL of the post is taken from the title you use for your article.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">You can see that the URL is taken from the title by default.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">To change the URL according to your need and preference, click on custom permalink. Blogger will ask you to enter your choice and create the permalink accordingly as shown in the below picture.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Page titles is the entry for visitors to the home of contents and information. Having a poor title will tell them to leave without getting in. Getting a good, relevant and unique titles should be first priority in Search Engine Optimization.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Unique title for each page. Did you ever find two of the chapters in the same with the same name? Create unique title for each of your post. Don't repeat any title. This is not a compulsory thing but still its the ideal thing to create a different title for each post or article.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">The
for you post is the what is displayed in search engine results. Chances are that user will visit you if the title really attract him. I said that earlier, Titles are the opening doors to the vast information you have written in your blog. If you don't keep them good, you are allowing people not to visit you.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Use descriptive but brief title. There is no point putting a complete two line sentence in title only. Make it brief but highly relevant to whatever you have discussed in the post. You should use some of the keywords related to the article. However, avoid keyword stuffing. Search Engines don't like it and it will degrade your performance. The best practices as suggested by my blogger friends is a title of about 5-6 words relevant to the article with 2-3 keywords accordingly. Avoid too long title, and keyword stuffing in titles. Using a keyword or two is a good practice.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Use meta-tags to describe your article. You cannot put the complete description in the titles. A page description meta-tags tells the search engine about the summary of the page. When a search result is presented, along with title Google may use your meta tag in description in that result. Writing a good description will increase chances of your visitors. However, always try to

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">provide accurate description in meta tags.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">avoid keywords-only description.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">avoid using the complete post in meta-tags.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">using a unique description for each page.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Meta tags is a summary to the articles which you have written. And this summary is shown to the user searcher. A person by taking a glimpse to the meta-tags can decide whether to visit the site or not. So, writing a good meta description is a necessary thing for you.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">These two aspects, the titles and the meta-tags are the first steps towards the optimization of a blog / site for a search engine.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Providing the details of how to insert meta tags is not my aim here. You may Google search it, and you will find thousands of people helping you out.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">What is SEO.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">SEO is Search Engine Optimization. It is a process in which by following certain practices, you may lead to better rankings in search engines. Getting on first page of Google is the most needed thing for a webmaster. Although, there is no particular way of getting onto first page of Google since it takes a lots of factors into account, still by following certain optimization practices one can hope for better placements in Search Engines.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Is SEO really necessary?
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">The answer is Yes! There are 100 billion (approximate) searches per month. Don't you want that
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"> 100k is for your blog? You may get a good amount of visitors through social media and other different marketing ways, but the problem with them is you need to spend your time consistently with them. With SEO, you do it once, and get paid for that for a long period of time.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">SEO comes first in priority?
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">No. Your content comes first. Writing for a Search Engine should not be the way of optimization. The ideal thing is write for your audience, and then apply different optimization policies in order to get in Search Engine results. Focusing too hard on Search Engine Optimization may lead to degradation of Quality of articles you write. Your final audience are users, not Search Engines. The only thing is its good to take the best step when you can.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">What is Organic search results?
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Organic search results is when you are listed in search engines (you of course refers to your website) naturally without paying to it. You must have seen paid results in Google Search Engine or Bing, but it don't counts to organic traffic. SEO affects only organic results.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">As you can see, "Ad related to adsense" category is the paid one. The second result is considered to be organically discovered and searched. SEO deals with the optimization for organic searches.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Many webmasters considered it a waste. Is it?
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">For them it may be. Depends on preferences and choices. If you are good at social media marketing and have a huge fan following there with tons of traffic from there, then perhaps you won't listen to Search Engine. However, if you are really looking forward for a long term investment in 'getting traffic', SEO is the thing for that.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Encouraging clicks. You, as a publisher are not allowed to encourage your visitors to click on your ads in any way.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Misleading labels. You cannot label to your ads as 'click here', 'our sponsors', recommended websites/blogs', or put it in an way that your visitors find it difficult to differentiate it as an ad. You cannot even put labels as support us, click here and let us eat, etc etc.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Design of your site. You cannot design your site in accordance to your ads as if they misguide the visitors.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Ads on Redirected pages. You cannot put ads on those pages which are been redirected when a user do an activity on your blog, like commenting. Ads on thank you page, or exit page are not allowed in terms of AdSense. Make sure that you haven't done any such mistake. You cannot even put ads on websites which keep on refreshing after an allowed time. You may have noticed that many sites which have this thing of refreshing after some seconds keeps the refresh action to a certain frame and not to ads. E.g. A site maintaining scores in cricket will only refresh the scores and not the complete page which includes AdSense ads.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Ads in chats, or instant messaging services are not allowed. It should only be on website/blog where your content is served. You cannot put ads in e-mail or any software application.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Buying clicks. You cannot buy or sell clicks. You cannot ask people to click on your ads and tell them that you will pay a part of your income to them. Its illegal in the eyes of AdSense.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Ads aligned with images. You cannot place ads in alignment with images. It may look like a part of the image sequence and it is not allowed. You must in any case put the ads in such a way that the user is able to distinguish it from contents.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">No. of ads per page. You must check the Number of AdSense ads allowed per page. putting more ads than allowed will lead to termination of your account.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Google Do not allow placing of ads on sites that have more than 3 pop ups. They also restrict placing ads in a pop, which may keep floating in the rightmost corner of site, or which re-emerge after every 30seconds or so.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Although, these are the most basic terms and condition of AdSense, many publishers are banned due to going against these policies. As a publisher, if Google bans you for once, you are banned for your life time and 9 out of 10 cases do not get their account back. You should be really lucky in getting it back and the chances are very thin. So, why to take risk. Prevention is always better than cure. Although there are several AdSense alternatives but non of them are as efficient as it. If you use AdSense you will surely agree with my point. So keeping all these points will lead to a better relationship between you and the AdSense. Its up to now.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">The blogging world has high number of enthusiasts joining daily and the number of failures is also increasing in proportion. However, as a beginner, if you can keep some of the basics and key points in your mind, it will lead to a long blogging career of yours. Here are some of the points for beginners which will help you in going a long way. These points may not be for people who take it as a hobby.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Know your niche. Define a particular topic that you are going to write about. It may be your passion, your interests, a topic that you love to debate upon, or something of your choice that won't bore you. You should have in your brain what you will write about on your blog. You should not start writing about 'body building' after writing some posts on technology. That's don't seem good. So, decide a particular topic that interests you. If you are passionate about something, then perhaps you are done with this point.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"> Be consistence. Write regularly if you want people to read your blog. Be consistence. There are 1000s of young bloggers emerging everyday and you have to keep competing with them too. Even if you are way ahead and remain standing there, you will soon be over-taken. People who have find your blog useful will come back to it. Give them something new or they will perhaps never return. Anything more than 2-3 posts per week is best. The number depends on how much you are already estabilished. If you have 10 articles so far, you need to write much more than someone who have 100.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Popularize it. Market it. The number of visitors increasing day by day will motivate you to do better. So, popularize your blog. Its not that you create a blog, and people will have a dream about it and they will visit it. Go on Facebook, Google Plus, LinkedIn. Start from your family members, friends, and their friends. You will see rising of your contacts list and the number of visitors. A blog's success is somehow counted by the traffic only. You have to tell the world about your blog. Atleast initially.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Keep learning. As you move along in blogging, you will encounter several new things such as SEO, Link building strategy, etc. Get familiar with them. Learn them. Whatever you will learn, it will help you someday. Trial and errors is the best practice for blogging. You try a thing, if you succeed then you go on with it. Else, you try something else.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"> <span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">These points are the four basic point a beginner blogger should keep in mind. Most of the people will agree to these points. However, if you are innovative enough you may choose another path. People who think differently are usually the one who succeed. Its up to you. However, if you are contradictory, do mention it in comments, I would love to have a discussion with you.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">mb.

What to do?

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">In last few days, I personally noticed a lots of clicks with 0 CTR, only from U.S. The click through rate for my ads on one of my website doubled and I got a hint of some kind of attack from some jealous people around the world. I always though Blogger is much safer than WordPress in these kind of fraudulent activities but that's not true, at least in these past 15 days. So, what should I do to save my Adsense account? What should I do to stop these invalid clicks?
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">I personally talked with several webmasters in blogging world, some experiencing the same problem, some even got banned due to these, and some are trying to save themselves just like me. And frankly I didn't get a satisfying answer. All were having different opinions but still some point was in common.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Google says its your responsibility to save yourself from these invalid clicks. So they won't even think before banning you. If your account is an year old, still you are not at all safe. One of my friends got banned with a good reputation with adsense and that's ridiculous. Just because someone sitting in a room thousands of miles away, open your blog and clicks your ads several times must not lead to 'your' account ban. But still Google works that way.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Question is what should we do if we detect these unusual activities?

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Remove AdSense. The first and most effective way is remove AdSense ads from your affected blog as soon as possible for some days. And then re-establish these ads and hope that the fraudulent activity will dis-continue. If its not, dis-continue again.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Trace the ip address of the clicks. Most probably, all the invalid clicks will be from the same location and ip address. You can use Google analytics to trace that. I noticed 1 page view from an ip address and number of clicks. Clearly, its a matter of invalid clicks. So i reported the ip address to Google and even banned it.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Even by following these clicks, if you have been banned, then perhaps you should look beyond Google. Time for a switch. There are not as good as Adsense but still better alternatives. Try them. Learn them. And earn from them. Your banning means you have been penalized for something you have not done so its not your fault. Its theirs that they lost one of there trusty customer. Join with other publishing programs, direct advertisement selling, buysellads, affiliate marketing. You may get more than Adsense.

Some of the pro bloggers accept that Twitter plays a huge part in driving traffic to their blogs. Twitter can be the best place for marketing topics and getting viral on Twitter can result in huge traffic to your blog. The only condition is you have to increase your fan base. You have to increase your twitter followers. There are several parties selling followers to you, but chances are that none of the bought followers are going to engage with you. So, what steps should be taken to get followers? Here are some.

Keep your profile real. Put your original picture and an attractive bio of yours. Placing your pic ensures your authenticity and chances are more of you getting followed. Include your blog address in your bio and use hashtags so that people may discover you in twitter search. Twitter bio is limited to only 160 characters, so you have to manage it very precisely. Including hash tags while introducing yourself is good idea. 'I am a blogger' can be replaced by 'I am a #blogger'. In this way, you are actually asking twitter to enlist you in searches of the word 'blogger'. People always search others in their niche, and you have a chance of getting discovered.

Follow and get followed. Old school trick but still very efficient. If you follow someone, chances are that you will be followed back. Follow people related to your niche, search them over twitter or search them in followers/following list of people already in your connection. Keep in mind those people which are average. Anyone with 100k followers or following will never notice your tweets unless you are a celebrity. Choose people who seems genuine and individual. Look for their profile pic and bio.

Tweet often. Tweet regularly. Let your followers know your presence. Even if you have nothing to tweet about your blog or articles, put up some jokes, or whatever you feel like. Only tweeting links is also a bad idea. Ask questions, share some news, jokes or anything. You can even tweet an article more than once with some other text description. However, don't over do it. Keep in control the number of tweets you do.

Retweet and mentions. Mention people in your tweets. Take time to read others tweet and if you find anything interesting re-tweet. Its a give and take relationship. The more you build it, the more it will help you. Let your presence be felt by mentioning people, using hash tags, or re-tweeting others.

Include twitter gadgets on your blog. Putting a twitter follow gadgets on your blog will increase your number of followers. If your blog visitors finds your blogs interesting and informative, you will surely get a follower. For once, ask your already established friend circle on social media accounts like Google+ and Facebook networks to join you. You can leave an invitation personally to people who are in in same niche to you or update your timeline with a request to add you on twitter. There are various committee on Google Plus which helps you in promoting yourself. Put your twitter username there asking people to join with a short and brief description of your blog.

Google uses PageRank to determine the search engine ranking position of a blog. It is general representation of website / blog popularity and is primarily based on link popularity. The websites with higher PageRank have higher search engine positions (although these days, there are other factors more involved). PageRank is a Google algorithm named after Larry Page. Bloggers are often keen to check page rank of their blog/sites and try to get good rank.

PageRank for a website / blog is assigned a value of 0-10. 10 being the highest. Getting even a pageRank 1 is a tough process and requires a lot of efforts.

PageRank Checker.

Here is 2 websites to check Page Rank of your blog:

www.prchecker.info

www.page-rank-calculator.com.

PageRank updates are not done frequently so don't expect a increase for tomorrow. Its usually updated every 3 months although its not fixed. I used the term 'usually'. So, work for 3 months from now, market you blog on social media, follow these top 3 link building techniques and then hope to get a PageRank 1 for the first update.

Getting a good PageRank ensures your blog being positioned higher in search engine rankings.

If you are an Adsense publisher and noticing that the clicks you are generating on your ads are counting to zero earning, with Cost per Click zero, here are the three basic reasons for Adsense clicks but zero earnings. Although there may be some more reasons but these 3 reasons mainly account for zero earning with clicks on Adsense.

You are using Site Authorization feature and the website showing your ads has not been added to the authorized list, so the clicks it is generating is not counted at all. The solution is that stop using this feature or add that site to the authorization list. You may try adding different forms of your URL in the permitted list like

1.www.y2do.blogspot.com
2.y2do.blogspot.com
3.http://y2do.blogspot.com

The ads which are shown on Google may be CPM ads. Google reserve the selection of the ads and user cannot decide which ad to show up, Pay per Click Or Cost per Mile ads. If a CPM ad is shown and you generate a click on that ad, your cpc will be zero and earning will be according to the impressions. Usually CPM ads are low in income so for very less Impressions, your income will show to zero only.

Invalid clicks. Google monitors all the clicks and it might be possible that Google detected some of these invalids. There may be various reasons for invalid clicks and Google do not discloses its click monitoring system. However, these clicks are counted in stats which might confuse.

Technorati is a blog search engine indexing more than a million blogs till date. Its a place where different blogger share their blogs and can be used as a great marketing tool for your blog. Technorati provide a 'authority system' which measures site's influence in the blogosphere and ranking in its niche. The authority is measured on 0-1000 scale and 1000 is the best.

Technorati ranking system. Technorati also provide a ranking system where your blog is ranked according to their algorithm. I will not get to it as you can find that information on their website. Based on the ranking system, top 100 lists are calculated and placed on the home page. Being in top 100 list can get you a huge consistence traffic although its quite difficult to get in it. However, even in top 1000 list will bring to you a considerable amount of traffic.
How to register.

Sign up for Technorati.com .

You will be asked to verify whether you are the author of the blog which you registered. They will generate a token which you have to include in any post. You can either create a new post or update an existing one putting that token it its text.

Once they will crawl your website and find that text, you will be registered and they will final review your blog. Due to a huge number of blog being registered daily, it will take time since final review is a manual process. May be a day or two.

Once you are approved, your blog will be listed in their blogosphere.

Some key points regarding Technorati marketing.

Choose specific category for your blog. Creating a blog on 'body building' and choosing a category 'technology' will always lead to poor ranking.

Check your technorati status and ranking often, to see your progress and compare your results with your previous ones.

Try hard to get to top 100 or even top 500 list. It will bring to you a huge lot of traffic. I was in top 2500 and getting 5% of my traffic from them.

Since, technorati is a place of bloggers, people visiting your blog are quality traffic. They are interested in your blog, so they are visiting you.

Technorati is just one more place to have backlinks. Interact with other bloggers, visit their blogs, discuss with them.

Any more questions? You can put that in comments. Visit a day later, and you will find it answered. Surely. !!

Link building is just a way of leaving traces all over the internet through which your web blog can be reached by anonymous person. Its like you leave your address all over the globe and people reach to you through that address. It can be one of the major source of traffic to your blog if done in a right way. There are various link building ways you can follow to attract some readers. Some of them are been discussed below.

Commenting on other blogs. You are most probably already familiar with this technique. its still the basic and best technique for creating a link to your blog on some higher page rank blog. If you have not taken care of this, you should start spending some quality time on this. You can read this article to create better links while commenting.

Leaving comments on another blog.

Blogs hosted on bloggers do not have inbuilt link generating features. However, you can still post links in the comment section of the blogger. Its been discussed already in the blog by the name Put links in blogger's comments.

Yahoo answers. Yahoo answers can be very useful in driving traffic to your blog. Answer questions related to your niche in yahoo. Choose at least 10 questions each day and answer them in such a manner so as the user is tempted to visit your blog while reading the answer. In starting, you won't see significant rise in traffic, but just imagine posting 10 links a day for a month will create 300 links to your blog. And yahoo answers are already search optimized. People will reach to it through search engines also. And getting some 'Thank you's are really motivational. Isn't it.

Posting in Forums. Many forums provide the facility of putting links in your signature. Utilize this feature. Answers questions in forums mentioning links to your blogs and you will start seeing some of the traffic from them. There are numerous forums related to your niche. You just have to select 3-4 of them with high rankings, answers questions already asked putting links in your answers. Choose those topics which are crowded and a progressive discussion is going on. There is no point in posting links to a topic which has been dead for a year.

I am working on second part of this article. If you have any other ways of link building, do post in comments. I will surely take up your advice.

Post title is first which a reader sees and keeping it ordinary lessen the chances that user will go through your article. It gives the first and brief information about the content the user is going to read. So keeping a good informative and caching title will attract more audience for you. However, there are some basic guidelines you should consider before selecting an appropriate title for your post.

Keep an informative title. Never post any article without any title. Keep it informative and true to the content. Try taking it from the article itself if you have written the article and thinking about the title. Never put a blank title since it naturally reduces the reach of the article. Keeping it informative means selecting an article in context of what you have written.

Keep it descriptive. Don't just put a lame one word title for your post. Keep it descriptive. It should give an insight of the content which is presented to the reader. Writing a complete post on body building and giving a title "body building" will make it a common thing for the readers. You can rather give a brief idea of whether you are going to discuss an exercise or about the eating habits.

Think about the search engines. Imagine yourself as a reader, and you are searching for the contents in the post you have written / going to write. What are the words you gonna put in the search query for that content. Thinking about it will give you an idea about the title to put on for your texts. Titles are the first thing in a post a search engine looks for. So, keeping in mind the search engines boosts up your SEO practices and your organic traffic.

Avoid long titles. Long titles will be truncated in search engine results. Don't put a very long title. You have the body of the content to write anything long. Don't do that in the title section only. Keep it short and true to the content. Avoid misleading titles.

Avoid repeated titles. Don't use a single title for more than one post. Keeping similar titles for all your post makes it impossible for the user to distinguish one content from another. Select a different title for each page. A blog with tile "Blogging basics" on several posts will create a mess for the reader to distinguish one article from the another. Do you want that?

Avoid keyword stuffing. Just for the shake of being discovered by search engine, some people put same words in titles. Avoid such steps. Its better to have some descriptive words in your title but that doesn't mean you put the same words in the same title. This can make your stuff look spammy or fake to user.
